Broken colored horses are associated in the popular imagination with the old American west. In particular, they are associated with Native Americans, with whom they were a popular choice, as the pattern of broken colors made the horses hard to see, either during a hunt or during war.
Broken colored horses - also known as pintos - continue to be popular today, both in the American west and around the world. However, even though “pinto” is the Spanish word for “paint”, pinto horses are not quite the same thing as paint horses.

When I first decided to become a parrot trainer I read up on all sorts of training techniques from supposedly good parrot trainers. These trainer’s birds were amazing. Their Green Wing Macaws were capable of jumping off the top of hotel roofs, without any restraints and would willingly fly down from the roof and land on their trainers hand.
It was an amazing thing to watch, so amazing that I decided to follow all instructions he gave me to the core. I obeyed everything he said, including a method that I later realized was FAR from the best way to train a parrot not to bite.

I’ve recently been handling lots of new clients in my parrot training business, coaching them through issues and spending a lot of time thinking about why parrots end up having problems when it hit me… African Grey Parrots are the 2nd most likely parrot to develop behavior problems; Second only to the Cockatoo.
But unlike Cockatoo’s who are in my opinion are not a good bird for the regular parrot owner to own because of it’s nature… African grey Parrots don’t share the Cockatoo’s same nature. So why do I have so many clients who’s African Grey’s have problems?

Dog separation anxiety is also referred to as home alone syndrome or canine separation anxiety, and is one of the most common behavioral problems to affect shelter dogs (and their owners). Adopting a shelter dog is a wonderful way to gain a new, loyal family member and change the life of a special animal. However, many shelter dogs suffer from separation anxiety either simply because of their personality or because of abandonment issues and will need extra loving care and plenty of patience.

It is the middle of the night and your cat is running around the house like there is no tomorrow. You tell it to stop, you play with it a little bit, but nothing works. Now, before you jump the gun and think your cat has behavioral problems, take a quick minute to look around and see if your cat has things to jump around and play on. If the answer is no, then all you need to do is buy some cat furniture, which is a great way to tire your cat out during the day so you can get a good night’s rest.
